November begins with two important days; on November 1
st we celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints, on November 2
nd we celebrate the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed.
It is because of these feasts, that November is a month for remembering those who have died, whether it was recently, or many years ago. Here are some special ways to remember those whom you loved who have died.
Attend the Remembrance Mass November 2nd at 7 pm All will be invited to light a candle in honor of their loved one, parishioners who have passed away in the last year will also be honored in a special way.
Bring a photo of your loved one to hang up in Church A special bulletin board will be available for you to hang their photo beginning at the Remembrance Mass, and will remain through Christ the King.
Write their name in the Book of Remembrance This book will be available by the Shrine of Mary in near the back of Church throughout November.
Have Mass offered for them Call or stop by the Parish office to set this up. Small free-will donations are accepted.
Visit the grave and say a prayer (
or if you cannot visit his or her grave, simply praying is great too)
The Requiem Aeternam is a wonderful prayer:
Eternal rest grant to them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May the souls of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God,
rest in peace.
Amen.
