Eucharist

Since Christ died for us out of love, when we celebrate the memorial of his death at the moment of sacrifice we ask that love may be granted to us by the coming of the Holy Spirit. We humbly pray that in the strength of this love by which Christ willed to die for us, we, by receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, may be able to consider the world as crucified for us, and to be ourselves as crucified to the world.... Having recieved the gift of love, let us die to sin and live for God.

Saint Fulgentius of Ruspe, Contra Fab.

The Eucharist is the bread of life and through it we celebrate and remember Jesus.

We come together as a community and break bread together and eat.

The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic faith.

Preparing those who come to the table of the Lord for the first time is a significant moment in their lives and the life of the community.

*Recipients must be baptized in order to receive Holy Eucharist.

FOR CHILDREN

Children prepare to receive their First Eucharist in second grade.

Those wishing to celebrate First Eucharist in second grade should normally be enrolled in Our Lady of Peace Catholic School or Family Faith Formation beginning in first grade.

As the primary catechists of their children, parents are invited to play an active role in their child's formation by completing at-home activities with their child, which deepens their understanding of the Eucharist and the Mass.

Families are also invited to a First Eucharist retreat to deepen their spiritual preparation to receive Jesus in the Eucharist.

Registration for sacramental preparation is available in early Autumn.
