This year, we reflected as we prepared to kick off our annual generosity appeal, has been a year like none other; so many in our very own community have been burdened with job loss, homelessness, and food insecurity as a result of this pandemic.
In a special way this year, Our Lady of Peace Church and School wants to make a significant positive impact for those in our community who need our help most.
Sharing & Caring Hands is an organization in Minneapolis, “dedicated to the proposition that the community can make a difference in the lives of others through volunteerism, donation, and commitment.”
They provide meals, clothing, showers, shelter, transportation help, rent help, medical assistance, school expenses, and other miscellaneous services to people in need.
They provide this support with dignity, affirming God's love for all his people, regardless of their circumstances.
Over the next six weeks of Lent, Our Lady of Peace is asking all families to consider donating $19 toward this worthy organization, answering the call that we as Christians have to heed the cry of the poor.
Despite the challenges that COVID-19 has thrown our way, our Church and School have been blessed with the ability (and financial resources) to adapt our worship and teaching methods, to ensure our sustainability in a safe and effective manner. It is now our turn to help those who have not been so fortunate.
Please consider making your donation today.
We recently received news that a matching donor has come forward anonymously to match all funds we raise as a part of our Lenten Generosity Appeal!
