What is Liturgy of the Word for Children (LWC)?

A worship experience geared especially for children from 4 years old through second grade, LWC mirrors the worship experience of the larger community.

Children are dismissed during the opening prayers and return at the Preparation of the Gifts to be with their parents for the remainder of the Mass time.

While downstairs the readings of the day are proclaimed and a reflection is offered. The language of the readings and discussion are both geared to the age level of the children.

A Creed is professed and all participate in the Prayers of the Faithful.
