It’s an understatement to say that 2020 has been a year unlike any other we have experienced. Pandemic precautions have disrupted the normal course of holidays, traditions, events, and interactions that we had come to take for granted.
At the same time, people’s response and resourcefulness have impressed me, as they made adjustments and changes in order to keep connected and celebrate important moments.
We have tried to do the same thing here at Our Lady of Peace, adapting to make it possible for us to maintain our community and celebrate the sacraments as best we can.
Even as everything else was upended, we know one thing never changes—that God is with us, to strengthen, guide, and carry us through it.
We are as eager as anyone to get back to “normal,” and like you, we have missed seeing everyone at Mass and chatting over a donut and coffee!
However, we are grateful that we have a strong community. Your generosity and willingness to adapt have made it possible to continue carrying out our mission and to weather the storms 2020 has brought.
Thank you!
Our mission is one of faith, but like every organization, we can’t do what we do without financial resources.
This year has highlighted the importance of recurring weekly or monthly contributions.
They provide much-needed stability when our community isn’t able to gather in person. It gives us a sense of what to expect financially and allows us to budget and plan accordingly.
If you are already giving regularly, thank you!
If you are not set up for recurring donations, please consider doing so.
More information and directions can be found on the back of this letter.
Any contribution at any level is helpful and appreciated, including one-time gifts.
We know that this year has had plenty of challenges for everyone and that many organizations are currently seeking your financial support.
Nevertheless, we humbly ask you to pray and consider including our parish in your giving.
Sincerely in Christ,
Father Joah Ellis
